The annual ad-hoc meeting of the HERA project took place on May 28-29, 2024 in Naples, Italy. The meeting was attended by the CAJU Project Office, Antonello Marino, the HERA coordinator, Massimiliano Di Giulio, the HERA Use Case chief engineers and relevant specialists from different organizations involved in the project.
The objectives for this review were to assess:
- The progress during the first four months of 2024
- Status of recommendations from the previous review
- Technical, and financial plans up to completion
Discussions during the meetings were open and constructive addressing issues and challenges of the program. In addition, EASA participated in the meeting initiating the cooperation with the HERA consortium.
HERA is responsible for integrating key technologies out of CaJU HER Thrust to provide future regional aircraft concepts with passenger numbers ranging from 50 to 100 and Entry Into Service (EIS) 2035 especially fulfilling the request for GreenHouseGas (GHG) reductions.
Overall, it was concluded that the HERA project is well structured towards efficient management of activities while it has reached most of its objectives.
