At the heart of this series is an innovative format: original expert interviews are reimagined into dynamic, dialogue-style scripts, enhanced through AI-generated narration.

HERA is proud to be featured in the EASN Newsletter 2026 – Issue 2, with a dedicated article highlighting the project’s contribution to advancing hybrid electric regional aviation and its role within the wider Clean Aviation ecosystem.

The article not only showcases HERA’s technological progress and forward looking aircraft concepts but also places particular emphasis on an exciting upcoming initiative: a high level online webinar debate tackling one of the most critical questions for the future of sustainable aviation:

“The Race to 2035: Hybrid Electric and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) vs Hydrogen Aviation.”

This online event will explore a central question shaping the aviation transition:

“Which technological pathway is closest to certification, scalable in the near term, and most capable of delivering tangible impact by 2035?”

As the aviation sector accelerates toward climate neutrality, the debate reflects the growing importance of comparing and combining innovative propulsion solutions. From hybrid electric systems and SAF to hydrogen-based architectures, multiple approaches are being developed in parallel—each offering unique strengths and challenges.

Bringing leading projects together

The webinar will convene major Clean Aviation initiatives in a dynamic exchange of perspectives, including:

  • Team 1: HERA & HERFUSE
  • Team 2: H2ELIOS & CAVENDISH

Each project contributes critical expertise to the evolving landscape of low-emission aviation, creating a unique platform for dialogue across complementary technologies and strategies.

The discussion moves beyond competition—aiming instead to foster a collaborative vision where different propulsion pathways may converge to meet diverse operational needs and timelines.

The webinar is expected to launch in the last week of September, with further details and registration information to be announced soon.
